Whatsapp Payments has been launched in India in early Beta Testing stage for few million Users in India To test their payments and after the end Of this Year Whatsapp Payments will be available for More than 20 Millions Users in India .
WhatsApp's UPI payment transaction service was stuck in beta mode for two-and-a-half years. Now finally they have secured approval to launch the payment service. Since February 2018 during the beta testing mode for the UPI service, WhatsApp was allowed to have only 1 million users to test the transactions. Now after securing approvals, in the first half of the launch, WhatsApp can have up to 20 million - which is 20 crore users. As of now Google Pay and Walmart-owned Phone pe, are the largely use UPI service. Google Pay, Phone pe, Paytm, etc have for a long time feared WhatsApp’s entry in mobile payment transactions. This is because WhatsApp, which has 400 million - which is 40 crore - monthly active users in India. Now that it has started UPI payments, they will be able to draw more customers. It will increase competition in the market.
How to Activate Whatsapp Payment :
Step 1:
Open the WhatsApp app on your phone and tap on the three-dotted icon, which is placed on the highest right corner of the screen.
Step 2:
Tap on Payments > Add payment method. you'll get an inventory of bank names.
Step 3:
After selecting the name of the bank, your number (linked with the bank) are going to be verified. For this, you would like to tap on Verify via SMS. confirm the WhatsApp number is that the same because the one linked to your checking account .
Step 4:
Once the verification process is completed, you'll then got to finish fixing payments. you'll got to set a UPI pin for completing transactions almost like how it's on other apps. After this, you'll be ready to see the chosen bank on the payments page.

Step 1: Open the chat of the person on WhatsApp and tap on attachment icon.
Step 2: Tap on Payment and add the quantity you would like to send to the individual. One also can add a note.
Step 3: to finish the WhatsApp payment process, you would like to enter your UPI PIN. once the transaction is completed, you'll get a confirmation message.
